RSE is Featured in the Fall 2016 Rensselaer Alumni Magazine

Have you received your Fall (September) issue of Rensselaer MagazineIf so, you probably noticed our article and accompanying photo on page 36, which features both RSE’s long and storied history and our upcoming Sesquicentennial Celebration. The piece was written and submitted by current Society Board of Trustees President Tom Keating ‘75. The article had to be relatively brief, because we were limited to 500 words. Nevertheless, we were thrilled to get free publicity and exposure!

Where Will Your Interests Lead You? Following Wes Lord

This excellent article about RSE Alumnus and Secretary of the RSE Foundation, Wes Lord ’72, is being reprinted with the prior approval of the Pratt & Whitney (division of UTC).  It was originally published in their in-house newsletter.  Thanks to another RSE alumnus, Mike Savage ’95, for making us aware of it via the RSE Facebook Group.

The year was 1973 and a young Wes Lord, now a fellow in System Architecture Functional Design, found himself graduating from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a master’s degree in mechanical engineering. Lord had initially studied chemical engineering, but after taking several courses in chemistry, he determined that his interests lay elsewhere. This resulted in him pursuing mechanical engineering with a focus on fluid thermal science.

Results of the Latest RSE Biennial Trustee Elections

The latest edition of the RSE Biennial Elections took place in April and were coordinated by RSE Board Secretary Eric Stoever ‘04, Voting was open and available to all RSE alumni and it was conducted by both the traditional mail in ballots and via electronic means through the RSE website.

The results of the election were announced at the Spring Society Meeting held in the Living Room of the RSE Clubhouse on the afternoon of Saturday, April 16th.
