2017 RSE Induction Ceremony
Anthony Cormace '16

The annual RSE Induction ceremony was held at the RSE Clubhouse following the RPI Commencement on May 20, 2017. The 2017 Alumni Members include: Rowan Brumant, Tyler Dougherty, Chandler Dunn, Tristan Hardy, Vincent LaRocca, Casey Lumia, John Kraynik, Jeevan Narendran, Andrew Rush, Kevin Ryan, Jake Schumaker, Jeff Sitarski, Ben Thomas, Dane Torres and Nicholas James Umstattd.

The ceremony was opened by RSE Trustee Ben Mitchell ’12. Anthony Cormace ’16 addressed the new members as well as their families and friends, providing a particularly insightful perspective as he has known these new alumni through their entire time at RSE.

“We are here to this weekend to not just celebrate the great academic achievement of graduating from RPI, but to celebrate the men JMs (Junior Members) have become during their time at the school. RSE affords the opportunity for all of its members to participate in activities that help them change for the better.  It creates an environment that allows the brothers to grow their character…. if they choose to do so. I believe that the ability to build a reputation as a person of character and honor is the highest achievement of both social and business life.  The development of character as well as personal and leadership skills during this time is just as important, if not more so, than the education the members are receiving.”

Following his introductory remarks, Anthony Cormace ‘16 personally spoke about each new alumni member and Ben Mitchell ‘12 presented them with a certificate and a framed lithograph of the RSE Clubhouse.

A variety of heavy hors d'oeuvres were prepared for all by RSE Chef Adam Foti and his staff from Pomme de Terre, LLC. Family and friends enjoyed the afternoon socializing in the Living Room and on Front Porch.

Several RSE alumni received their Master’s degrees at this graduation. Congratulations to Khalil Drayton '16, Gabriel Kurtzman '16 and Tony Ugarte '16.

Other alumni in attendance included: Jeff Gorss ’66, Mark A. Vince ’75, Mark Anderson ’79, Connor Dowd ’14, Garland Eastman ’14, Humza Ahmed '14, Mark Beasman '14, Charles Glew '14, Tyler King '14, Mitesh Panwala '14, Cameron Farr '15, Colin Hughes '15, Joe Spinazola '15, Dan Bissonnette '16, Tyrone Hammond '16 and Joe Morin '16.

Special recognition goes to House Manager Isaiah Stanley ’19 with help from Pete Liporace, the House Advisor, who led the effort to have the House looking its best for the event.
